Global Brain has made an additional investment in SmartBank, Inc. (SmartBank), a fintech company providing prepaid VISA cards and accompanying app "B/43" for expense management, through its GB-VI & GB-VII Follow-on Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VI & VII Follow-on) as the lead investor. Global Brain invested in the company through its GB-VII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership as the lead investor in the previous round.

“B/43” enables each user to track/visualize spending in real-time by category and get a graphical timeline of overall expenses. Since the last round, SmartBank has achieved steady business growth. In addition to introducing a new card with an IC chip, it has released a joint account service for couples, roommates, friends, etc. to manage their finances together, along with their individual finances.

Global Brain has decided to additionally invest in SmartBank, thinking highly of the team’s knowledge and expertise in the industry, its broad network and powerful driving force on business development, as well as the rapid growth since the last financing round which Global Brain joined. We will leverage our resources to support SmartBank in establishing a new standard of expense management and payment method.
