Global Brain has invested in trifa Inc. (trifa), an operator of an eSIM^\*1 app operator for international travel, through SMBC-GB Growth Fund jointly managed with SMBC Edge Co., Ltd. as the lead investor. This round of funding was also joined by Global Brain Flagship Fund IX (GB-IX) and ANA Future Frontier Fund L.P. (ANA Future Frontier Fund) for follow-on investments. The startup’s eSIM app called trifa provides easy internet access in over 200 countries and regions. It eliminates the complexities of renting, picking up, and returning Wi-Fi routers, as well as the need to purchase and swap physical SIM cards, providing a frictionless international connectivity experience with just a single app. Offering greater convenience than mobile Wi-Fi and other solutions, the app has surpassed two million downloads in total as of April 2026. Furthermore, international sales now accounts for approximately 10% of total revenue. With the funds raised, trifa plans to accelerate its global expansion, particularly in East Asia, and develop new business initiatives in travel-related sectors such as payment and transportation booking services. Furthermore, trifa is committed to strengthening its organizational structure and enhancing its existing products.
