Global Brain has invested in LacuS, Inc. (LacuS), a food-tech company that provides complete nutritional meals for the elderly, through its Canon Marketing Japan MIRAI Fund (Canon MJ MIRAI Fund). LacuS is committed to solving social issues surrounding the elderly in Japan by providing a high-quality dietary experience through complete nutritional meals, with the mission of creating an inclusive society through the formation of new dietary habits. The founder, Eriku Furutsu, completed a program specializing in entrepreneurship training at Kaishi Professional University and started the company while still a student. Although it has only been about two and a half years since its establishment, LacuS already has an extensive track record of providing its product to nursing care facilities. In the spring of 2024, it officially launched its first product, “Me ICE,” which is a complete nutritional ice cream brand, on e-commerce sites and in actual stores. “Me ICE” became the top-selling product in its category on Amazon and has been very well-received by the consumers. Leveraging this funding, the company plans to develop products on top of the current ice cream items and expand sales through the B2C channel, while accumulating achievements mainly in the B2B channel. Global Brain has decided to invest in LacuS after highly recognizing its vision, excellent management, attractive products, and market growth potential. Through this investment, Global Brain will support LacuS in driving further business growth in collaboration with Canon Marketing Japan Inc.
