Global Brain has invested in Contrea Inc. (Contrea), the provider of MediOS, an end-to-end patient digital transformation service, through its Meiji Yasuda Future Innovation Fund L.P. (Meiji Yasuda FIF). As Japan faces an aging population, a shortage of healthcare professionals, and persistently high workloads for medical staff, initiatives to improve productivity while maintaining the quality of care are becoming increasingly important. In particular, informed consent, patient intake and consent paperwork, and follow-up before and after hospitalization are core clinical operations; however, these processes often remain partly analog, creating burdens for both healthcare providers and patients. With the mission "Ensuring peace of mind for everyone involved in healthcare," Contrea provides MediOS, which streamlines communications, administrative procedures, and information collection between medical professionals and patients through digital tools. Starting with its Explanation Support module, which replicates standard explanations delivered by doctors and nurses through easy-to-understand animated videos, MediOS integrates patient intake questionnaires, e-consent forms, messaging, and at-home follow-up. This enables hospitals to improve both operational efficiency and patient experience without compromising care quality. Global Brain has decided to invest in Contrea based on the startup’s product design and operational capabilities grounded in real clinical workflows, as well as its potential to contribute to a sustainable healthcare delivery system and a more patient-centered medical experience through an infrastructure built around patient explanations and informed consent. Through this investment, Global Brain will collaborate with Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company to support Contrea’s business growth and the realization of its mission.
