(Cellid), a startup that develops high performance display module products and VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) solutions for AR (Augmented Reality) glasses, through its EP-GB L.P. (EP-GB) and TOKYU-CONST GB Innovation Fund L.P. (TCIF). Cellid is a Japan-based startup that provides both hardware and software products, namely a display module integrating high efficiency waveguide AR glasses that have global top-level performance of 60-degree FOV (Field of View) and ultra-small projector, and VSLAM software solution for high precision space analysis. This company was established by CEO Satoshi Shiraga who worked for CERN (European Council for Nuclear Research) as a researcher for elementary particle simulation. Also, many specialists of optics and SLAM algorithm have been joining Cellid. Though the VR (Virtual Reality) solution has already been widely used in the markets such as gaming and entertainment, AR is expected to be more suitable for our daily lives and industrial applications. For AR to spread into the world like smartphones, one of the most important technical issues to solve is achieving high-level balance among compactness, wide FOV, high brightness and high immersion.
