Global Brain has invested in Reiwa Travel, Inc. (Reiwa Travel), a fully digitalized travel agency through the SMBC-GB Growth Fund jointly managed with SMBC Venture Capital Management Co., Ltd. as the lead investor in the Series A funding round.

This round of funding was also joined by 31VENTURES Global Innovation Fund II (31VENTURES II, a corporate venture capital fund of Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.) and FUKOKU -THE MUTUAL for Next 100 Fund L.P. (TMN100).

Global Brain previously invested in the company through its GB-VII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VII) in June 2021.

Reiwa Travel was founded in April 2021 when the pandemic brought the overseas travel market to an almost total standstill, with a mission to leverage the digital technology's power to update the travel experience, believing in the value of travels in any circumstances and striving to make travels more accessible to everyone.

The company’s product called “NEWT,” an overseas travel booking app that offers an “easier” and “more affordable” travel experience, has grown significantly, with the total reservation circulation setting a record high for eight consecutive quarters since its service launch and the app’s satisfaction rating exceeding 4.6^*. With this funding, the company plans to accelerate the enhancement of travel experiences by investing more boldly in technology, including generative AI, and expand its business portfolio to domestic travel business, flight booking functions, and global expansion.

Global Brain has decided to invest in Reiwa Travel as the lead investor based on the team’s knowledge of the travel industry, robust business execution to date, and future growth potential, as in the previous round. Global Brain will continue to provide multifaceted support to Reiwa Travel in the creation of "new travel experiences," which is the company’s goal, by making maximum use of its resources in Japan and overseas.
