Global Brain has made an additional investment in DoctorMate Inc. (DoctorMate), a provider of medical solutions for nursing facilities, through its Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P. (NCIF) and GB-VIII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VIII) as the lead investor.

With the vision of creating a sustainable nursing care system, DoctorMate has been offering services for nursing care facility staff, including an online daytime medical consultation service with doctors, a nighttime on-call service by nurses, and a medical education service called “DM-study,” aiming to support nursing facilities in solving medical issues. As of September 1, 2024, more than 900 nursing facilities in more than 40 prefectures in Japan are using the services provided by DoctorMate, which was founded in December 2017. In addition to this, the company has also released an online psychiatric consultation service for dementia care in August 2024.

The nursing care industry in Japan faces major challenges, including an increase in the number of people certified as requiring long-term care, a shortage of the necessary nursing care personnel, and rising medical and nursing care costs. Through this fundraising, DoctorMate will continue to strengthen their existing services and development of new services, striving to create a sustainable nursing care system.
