Global Brain has invested in Yanekara Inc. (Yanekara), a developer of electric vehicle charging/discharging systems, through its 31VENTURES Global Innovation Fund II (31VENTURES II) as the co-lead investor. As the introduction and promotion of renewable energy and electric vehicles (EVs) accelerate toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 set by the Japanese government, the current tight supply-demand situation for electricity has created a need for solutions to introduce renewable energy and EVs without placing a burden on the power grid. Yanekara has developed "YaneBox," a charging and discharging device that can charge multiple EVs efficiently with solar power by a single unit, "YaneCube," a remotely controllable regular charging outlet, and "YanePort," a cloud system that can control them all. Through the services, businesses and consumers can generate power and utilize EV storage resources to achieve energy independence, which will lead to stable power supply for the society. Yanekara aims to contribute to the further introduction of renewable energy and the resolution of the electricity supply-demand shortage, as well as to create a system that empowers local communities with energy tech. In the future, Yanekara will expand POC of "YaneBox" and prepare for the mass production of "YaneCube." Global Brain has decided to invest in Yanekara based on its high-level understanding of customer issues, uniqueness of its hardware and cloud software solutions, and its vision and management team aiming to build an energy self-sufficient society.
