Global Brain has invested in Xayn AG, the privacy-protecting discovery engine for the Internet
Global Brain has made investments in Xayn AG (Xayn), the privacy-protecting discovery engine for the Internet, through GB-VII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VII) and KDDI Open Innovation Fund III L.P. (KOIF Ⅲ).
Xayn combines a discovery feed and a search engine with personalization, privacy, and clean design. Using the latest AI technology made in Europe for its mobile-first discovery engine, the company of the same name ushers in a new generation of user-friendly privacy tech.
After launching in December 2020 as a mobile-first search engine, the Berlin-based company has developed into a discovery engine for the entire Internet. Combing the latest privacy-protecting AI technology with a strong focus on a smooth user experience, Xayn re-defines the way people find information online. Xayn’s algorithms do not rely on centralized data collection. Instead, the AI trains directly on users’ devices, does not transmit private information and provides users with an individually tailored web experience. Since its launch, the app has already been downloaded worldwide and has recently been released in a light web version that can also be used on desktop devices.
Global Brain has decided to invest in Xayn, as it sees huge potential and needs in privacy-protecting AI technology and is impressed by Xayn’s strong management team, unique approaches, and technologies. Global Brain will continue leveraging its resources to support Xayn by assisting its penetration into the Asian market, including but not limited to building partnership/alliances with its potential clients.
