Global Brain has invested in K.K. Tokenz, a global payment solution provider for digital commerce

Global Brain has invested in K.K. Tokenz (Tokenz), a global payment solution provider for digital commerce, through Shinhan-GB FutureFlow Fund L.P. (SHGB) that is jointly managed with Shinhan Venture Investment Co., Ltd. (Shinhan Venture Investment).

While Apple and Google have been charging merchants up to 30% transaction fee for in-app purchases, moves are underway around the world to break these monopolistic conditions. In Japan, the “the Act on Promotion of Competition for Specified Smartphone Software” is scheduled to be fully enacted in December 2025. In addition, tax compliance for overseas sales is becoming increasingly complex, and there is a growing need for solutions that can properly manage multinational transactions.

Tokenz provides merchants selling digital content such as games, e-learning, streaming, anime, manga, and software (SaaS) with an all-in-one platform packed with convenient features for international payments, cross-border tax processing, and seamless payouts. As of March 2025, more than 200 payment methods are supported in over 170 countries and regions, helping merchants to build their own web shops and payment channels to sell digital content, as well as automate multi-currency payments and tax compliance. In a highly secure environment that prevents fraud, etc., Tokenz provides one-stop supporting services such as refund processing and customer service as well, which may occur in the settlement process. Tokenz already has offices in Japan, Singapore, the U.S., Lithuania, and Taiwan, and plans to use the funding to further accelerate customer acquisition, starting with Asia.

Global Brain has decided to invest in Tokenz in recognition of the high technological capabilities and network that CEO Po-Huan Lin and his team possess in the payment area. Through this investment, Global Brain will actively support Tokenz to contribute to its business growth.
