Global Brain has invested in SPeak, Inc., a career platform provider for global talent

Global Brain has invested in SPeak, Inc. (SPeak), a career platform provider for global talent, through its KDDI Open Innovation Fund III (KOIF III).

While the number of international students in Japan has been rapidly growing over the last 20 years, only 30% of them become employed in Japan. This shows that getting a job in Japan is their first hurdle to be cleared. To address this, SPeak offers a career platform focusing on global talent, where it operates one of the largest career communities in Japan and provides a variety of content on getting/changing jobs, a matching service to connect with companies, career events, and many more.

In addition, international students are still facing many issues around various contracts related to housing and payments where credit screening is required. As the population of non-Japanese nationals is predicted to account for 12% of the total in 2060, surpassing 1.4 million people, the market for global talent is now worth JPY 3.7 trillion. SPeak is aiming to transform “JPort” to a social infrastructure by sharing credit information of international students who are using “JPort” with business companies to develop financial and housing services. Through this fundraising, SPeak will further strengthen recruitment of prospective executives to expand the community and acquire customers in the career business. The company also plans to begin developing social infrastructure services in the areas of finance and housing.

Global Brain has decided to invest in SPeak, highly recognizing its strong global talent community and unique value proposition. Through this investment, Global Brain will collaborate with KDDI to provide comprehensive support for SPeak’s further business growth.
