Global Brain has invested in Kulawarga Asia Pte. Ltd. (Kulawarga Asia), which provides “Sayurbox”, a farm-to-table fresh produce distribution platform in Indonesia, through its Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P. (NCIF).
Indonesia is one of the world’s leading agricultural countries with its rapid economic growth backed by abundant natural resources and labor force. However, the country is still facing challenges in the food distribution system. For this issue, the “Sayurbox”, a farm-to-table fresh produce distribution platform provided by Kulawarga Asia, streamlines the food distribution by directly connecting producers and consumers using digital technology. While providing benefits to both producers and consumers by reducing distribution costs, “Sayurbox” also contributes to reducing food loss, which is one of the most serious issues in the country.
Global Brain has decided to invest in Kulawarga Asia, thinking highly of its deep knowledge of the food value chain, strong aspiration to improve Indonesia’s productivity, and its superior technology-based products. Global Brain will proactively leverage its resources to support Kulawarga Asia to promote food distribution and the smart agricultural ecosystem in Indonesia.
