Japan used to have one of the most massive fishery industries, but in recent years, the business environment surrounding the fisheries and aquaculture industries has become increasingly severe, with the volume of fisheries production decreasing by approximately 70% from its peak. Under these circumstances, SAKANA Dream strives to realize its corporate philosophy of “Develop and Deliver ‘the World’s Most Delicious Fish’” leveraging the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology’s breakthrough technology. Focusing on the intrinsic value of delicious food and fish with stories elevating the dining experience, SAKANA Dream is developing value-added fish species and has started selling its first product, Yume-Aji (a hybrid of whitefin trevally and horse mackerel).
