Global Brain has invested in Rentio Inc., a startup company operating Rentio, an appliance trial service
Global Brain has invested in Rentio Inc. (Rentio), a startup company operating Rentio, an appliance trial service, through its KURONEKO Innovation Fund (KURONEKO Fund).
Since its launch in 2015, the company has significantly grown the Rentio business while continuously evolving it as a service that provides new consumer behavior tailored to lifestyles that is “trying [the products] before purchase or using them when needed for a necessary period of time” instead of making a choice whether to “buy or not.” The size [of business] has grown to the level of over 2,900 product types including cameras and home appliances that can be tried out, 96,000 items in stock, and over 518,000 orders in total as of the end of November 2021.
Global Brain decided to invest in Rentio because of the business potential of the company that has captured changes in consumer needs and achieved high growth while evolving its business model. In order to achieve further growth, Rentio plans to strengthen ties with manufacturers, expand the number of products, build a new logistics system, enhance its maintenance structure, etc.
