Global Brain has invested in PIONIX GmbH (PIONIX), an open-source software company for electric vehicle (EV) charging, through its GB-VIII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VIII).

PIONIX develops an operating system for EV chargers and is the leading open-source pioneer for EV charging technology. In 2021, PIONIX initiated “EVerest,” the first freely accessible and holistic software solution for the booming market of e-mobility.

The open-source software stack “EVerest” is the perfect solution to develop, optimize, and unify EV charging infrastructure. It is PIONIX’s answer to the incompatibility between different charging systems. It also addresses the growing need for user-tailored solutions in an era where government declarations targeting Zero Emissions by 2050, adopted by various nations including the G7, lead the way for policy-making in the field of EVs and charging infrastructure.
