Global Brain has made investments in Life5, a Spanish life insurance startup, through its SFV･GB L.P. (SFV･GB).

Subscribing to a life insurance product is often a painful process as insurance companies sometimes require medical exams. In other cases, they simply don’t want to insure you due to a preexisting condition or because you don’t fit the bill.

Life5 works with several insurance companies and simplifies and modernises the subscription process. Customers can sign up in a few minutes through Life5’s website. They only need to fill out a form. Life5’s underwriting engine can handle 700 illnesses and risk professions, which greatly increases the acceptance rate. The startup acts as a managing general agent and partners with insurers and reinsurers, such as Axa and CNP Assurances.

Global Brain has decided to invest in Life5, as it sees huge potential and needs in its life insurance service and is impressed by its strong management team. Global Brain will continue leveraging its resources to support Life5 by assisting its penetration into the Asian market, including but not limited to building partnership/alliances with its potential clients.
