Global Brain has invested in Kyoto Fusioneering Ltd. (KF), a company researching and developing essential equipment and systems for fusion energy plants, through 31VENTURES – Global Brain – Growth I Project (Growth I Project), the JPY 30 billion venture investment project jointly managed with Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Mitsui Fudosan), mainly targeting growth stage startups.

Fusion energy, the power source of the sun and stars, is anticipated to be the next-generation solution addressing energy and environmental challenges, which has boosted the research and development (R&D) on fusion around the globe. In addition to the recent rise in private fusion investment in many countries, Japan’s efforts toward the early realization and industrialization of fusion energy are gaining momentum, as seen in the announcement by the government of a plan to establish a fusion industry council.

As a leading fusion power plant engineering company, KF focuses on R&D of essential equipment and systems for fusion energy plants. Collaborating with companies and research institutions dedicated to fusion energy, KF is steadfastly driving the fusion energy industry towards commercialization.
