Global Brain has made an additional investment in KAUCHE, Inc. (KAUCHE), a provider of an app “KAUCHE” that offers group-buying with friends, families, etc., through its GB-VII Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership (GB-VII).
“KAUCHE” is an online shopping app that enables users to enjoy the best part of shopping: communicating with others through “group-buying.” On the app, users choose a product, decide the purchase at a discounted price, and share the information via SNS. When one or more people such as friends and families, decide to buy the same product, “group-buying” is realized. Accordingly, they can obtain the product at a price lower than the regular price. From July 20, 2021, sales of daily necessities started in addition to food products, offering broader types of products to enjoy shopping.
For the sellers, it provides a new sales channel via “KAUCHE.” During the State of Emergency in Tokyo due to COVID-19 which affected the business of most of the distributors, KAUCHE implemented various support initiatives for them including a commission-free project. Such efforts for sellers have resulted in the growth of the number of sellers using “KAUCHE” by 8 times in October 2021 compared to September 2020 when the service was launched. At the same time, average sales per seller have grown by 4 times, while the GMV (Gross Merchandise Value) has grown by 33 times compared to the same period. This shows that KAUCHE is establishing a new distribution structure in Japan.
Global Brain has decided to make this additional investment in KAUCHE as a result of highly evaluating the speed of its business deployment and great management team implementing it. Global Brain will proactively leverage its resources to support KAUCHE to create a culture of “group-buying” in Japan.
