Global Brain has invested in EneCoat Technologies Co., Ltd. (EneCoat Technologies), a developer of perovskite solar cells, through its JGC MIRAI Innovation Fund L.P. (JGC MIRAI Innovation Fund).
EneCoat Technologies is a company that is developing solar cells based on the results of research conducted at the Wakamiya Laboratory of the Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University. EneCoat Technologies aims to develop perovskite solar cells with higher power generation efficiency and durability and establish manufacturing process technology for larger-scale products for the realization of a carbon-neutral society. The company is the only startup to be selected for the "Green Innovation Fund Project: Development of Next Generation Solar Cells" by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), attracting attention as a leader in the practical application of perovskite solar cells. EneCoat Technologies will continue its research and development for the practical application and social implementation of perovskite solar cells, aiming to make them the main power source, achieve carbon neutrality, and contribute to solving ultra-long term energy issues.
