Global Brain has invested in ATOMica Inc. (ATOMica), a company providing a SocialCoWorking® business across Japan, through its TAKANAWA GATEWAY Global Co-Benefits Fund L.P. (TAKANAWA Fund) as the lead investor. ATOMica is a startup that provides a SocialCoWorking® business along with its coworking space operation, continuously cultivating connections, exchanges, and co-creation, with the mission of fostering a reliable relationship. Since its establishment in 2019, ATOMica has supported the operation of 53 facilities in 29 prefectures throughout Japan (as of May 2025), leveraging available space provided by a wide variety of stakeholders, including corporations, local governments, universities, and communities. ATOMica is also operating the Coyage business which connects companies and people throughout Japan; knotPLACE, a tool for operating multi-location facilities developed in-house; and KOMMONS Company, a human resources matching and BPO platform. Global Brain has decided to invest in ATOMica, highly recognizing its vision, business development capabilities, and the experience of the team led by the Co-CEOs, Mizuki Shimada and Kazuki Minamihara, in producing and operating coworking facilities throughout Japan. Through this investment, Global Brain will work with TAKANAWA Fund’s partners, to provide ATOMica with multifaceted management support for future growth. Note: Global Brain announced its investment in ATOMica through its 31VENTURES Global Innovation Fund II and KDDI Regional Initiatives Fund I in April 2024.
