Global Brain has invested in Agri Info Design, Ltd. (AID), an agricultural IT / ICT startup company, which offers driving support application “AgriBus-NAVI” and Automatic steering related equipment for tractors, through its Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P. (NCIF).
AID is led by Mr. Yasuyuki Hamada, one of the leading experts in GPS guidance and agricultural machinery engineering, to conduct research and to provide knowledge / products related to the ICT in agricultural use. By using its driving support application “AgriBus-Navi” attached to tractors, farmers can check the driving route and work records of the agricultural machine. Also, being combined with its GPS/GNSS devices, AgriBus-Navi can provide highly accurate position information. In addition, replacing steering wheels with its automatic steering device to a tractor helps drivers control the vehicle automatically. These technologies, enabling users to drive straight at equal intervals in a field and to work without duplication, lead to work efficiency and reduction of material costs by preventing waste and unevenness in fertilizer or pesticide spraying. “AgriBus-Navi”, driver assistance application, has recorded over 800,000 downloads worldwide.
Global Brain has decided to invest in AID, because of its deep understanding of on-site situation and challenges, high level of completion of products and growth potential of the autonomous driving market. Global Brain will leverage its resources to support AID’s growth in Japanese and global market, in collaboration with The Norinchukin Bank.
