Global Brain has made an additional investment in YUIME INC. (YUIME), a human resource infrastructure provider specifically focused on Japanese primary industries, through its KDDI Regional Initiatives Fund I (KRIF I) as the lead investor. This round of funding was also joined by Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P. (NCIF). YUIME is driven by its vision to “Update Japan’s primary industries to world-class industries.” The company addresses social challenges such as the aging workforce and labor shortages in the primary sector through its suite of services including:
・**“YUIWORK,”** which provides short- and long-term staffing services supported by foreign nationals who hold Tokutei Ginou (Specified Skilled Worker) Visa;
・**“YUIMARU,”** a recruitment platform for core agricultural talent, including new farmers;
・**“YUIME Japan,”** a media platform dedicated to solving issues in the primary sector; and
・**“YUIME FARM,”** an experimental farm for accumulating cultivation data and farming know-how.
Global Brain has decided to additionally invest in YUIME, highly recognizing its business growth achieved through its management and the team with deep knowledge and experience in this field, and their collaboration with agricultural corporations, Japan Agricultural Cooperatives (JA), and local governments. Global Brain will support YUIME in preparing for the rapid expansion of its existing business, as well as in developing new business opportunities to expand its services into other primary industries. Note: Global Brain announced its initial investment in YUIME through KRIF I in April 2023.
