Global Brain has made an additional investment in Kulawarga Asia Pte. Ltd. (Sayurbox), which provides “Sayurbox,” a farm-to-table fresh produce distribution platform in Indonesia, through its Norinchukin Innovation Fund L.P. (NCIF).
Indonesia is one of the world’s leading agricultural countries with its rapid economic growth backed by abundant natural resources and labor force. However, the country is still facing challenges in the food distribution system. For this issue, Sayurbox streamlines food distribution by directly connecting producers and consumers using digital technology. Through its product offerings reflecting customer demands, Sayurbox handles more than 5,000 SKUs and is steadily expanding its business. In addition, Sayurbox has empowered more than 10,000 agricultural producers to be able to distribute their products to consumers and is also contributing to reduce food loss in Indonesia by cutting distribution costs.
Global Brain has decided to additionally invest in Sayurbox, thinking highly of its deep knowledge of the food value chain, strong aspiration to improve Indonesia’s productivity, and its superior technology-based products. Global Brain will proactively leverage its resources to support Sayurbox to promote the smart agricultural ecosystem in Indonesia.
