Global Brain has decided to invest in Axelspace Holdings (Axelspace), a provider of microsatellite business, through its SMBC-GB Growth Fund as the lead investor. This round of investment is also joined by 31VENTURES – Global Brain – Growth I Project (Growth I Project), KURONEKO Innovation Fund (KURONEKO Fund), and EP-GB L.P. (EP-GB). Global Brain previously invested in the company through its Growth I Project in May 2021 and December 2018 as well as GB-V Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership in September 2015.

Since its establishment in 2008, Axelspace has been developing its space business utilizing microsatellites, and has developed, launched, and operated nine commercial satellites, including one for the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Currently, in addition to the "AxelGlobe" business, a unique earth observation service that Axelspace has, the company is conducting research and development to realize an innovative one-stop service that provides everything from desktop research to design and manufacturing, launch, and on-orbit operation of small satellites as part of the "AxelLiner" business announced in 2022.
