KDDI Open Innovation Fund invests $8M in four startup companies in the United States

The “KDDI Open Innovation Fund” managed by Global Brain Corporation, has invested a total of 800 million yen (approximately 8 million USD) in the following four startup companies located in California, Unites States.

  • Edmodo, Inc. SNS based educational platform
  • Issuu, Inc. Digital publishing and sharing service
  • Pogoseat, Inc. Seat upgrades for live events
  • VentureBeat, Inc. IT media

Each company has its own unique competitive advantages and is enjoying rapid growth. KDDI and Global Brain are committed to provide assistances, such as assistances to enter the Japanese market, to further accelerate their growth in a global scale.
