Global Brain invests Series B in AdNear, a leader in location-based mobile advertising

The “GB-V Growth Fund Investment Limited Partnership” managed by Japanese venture capital firm, Global Brain Corporation (President & CEO: Yasuhiko Yurimoto), has invested in Singapore and Bangalore-based AdNear Pte. Ltd. (Founder & CEO: Anil Mathews), a leading mobile big data company that uses location based audience profiling technologies for intelligent and targeted mobile advertising

Historical location data combined with user behavior and other statistics generate powerful audience insights. By applying its unique technologies, AdNear has profiled more than 320 million users across Asia Pacific, which enables highly efficient targeted advertising with a significantly high conversion rate. AdNear has demonstrated the benefits of profile-based targeted advertising through various successful mobile ad campaigns it has executed for major global brands and large regional retail chains such as P&G, Woolworths, Audi, Unilever, BMW, Vodafone, Ford, Samsung, and IKEA.

Global Brain has invested in the Series B financing round of AdNear with Telstra Ventures, a subsidiary of Australia's leading telecommunication provider, and incumbent investors, Sequoia Capital and Canaan Partners. The total investment amount of the round is US$19 million, and this is the largest investment in Asian ventures for Global Brain ever. Global Brain will assist AdNear in entering the Japanese market.
