Akiko joined GB in 2021 and is responsible for translating/proofreading mainly IR/PR-related documents, video subtitles, etc.

Akiko has more than a decade-long experience of translation. Before becoming a translator, she worked at a translation company, where she became interested in translation and engaged in proofreading/editing municipalities’ English newsletters for non-Japanese residents along with translation coordination operations. Later, she developed her translation skills in areas of nuclear power generation, life insurance, etc. At Aflac, where she worked prior to GB, she also actively worked on operational improvement/transformation and talent development of the team.

As a child, Akiko lived in several cities including Tokyo and Osaka in Japan, and Perth in Australia. That developed her deep appreciation of different cultures. She also went to Angers, France to study French.
